Very few restaurants in the Sooner State have lasted as long as Clanton's Cafe in Vinita. This vintage restaurant still serves some of the same menu items as it did when it opened, one of which is their famous chicken fried steak. Check it out below:
Clanton's Cafe opened in 1927 and is the oldest continually owned family restaurant on Route 66 in the state of Oklahoma.
It's been a local staple in the community since it opened, offering impeccable service and fantastic food. You can feel the community spirit from the moment you walk in the door.
They are famous for their chicken fried steak that is made from the same recipe they started with more than 80 years ago. In fact, they've been featured in magazines and on television shows for this delicious meal.
The chicken fry alone is worth a visit to this Route 66 restaurant. It's perfectly seasoned and fried just right.
But just be forewarned there are lots and lots of delicious items on the menu that will catch your eye. These biscuits and gravy are hard to resist.
...and the same goes for this Taco Salad piled high with all the scrumptious fillings and salsa.
You'll be an instant fan of the homemade gravy and pretty much anything you try. If they serve it, you'll love it.
The breakfast menu offers all your favorites at very reasonable prices. The grilled cinnamon roll, a Clinton original, only costs $2.29.
