The Schoolhouse Restaurant in Camp Dennison, Ohio, offers an incredible look into the past -- while also serving up some pretty incredible, home-cooked cuisine. Here's a little lesson (see what we did there?) on one of the most unique restaurants in Ohio...
This refurbished school house was built in the early 1860s during the Civil War. (Just imagine if these walls could talk.)
The Camp Dennison School was in operation from 1864 through 1954, and it is rumored to have been the first two-room, two-story school house in the Midwest.
Today, it serves visitors many traditional homemade favorites such as fried chicken, meat loaf and mashed potatoes.
You'll find the menu on the chalkboard in the main dining room, where you're sure to find a hearty meal to satisfy your appetite...
...such as this plate of country fried steak. mashed potatoes (St. Patricks Day style) and green beans.
The delicious, home-cooked food is served family style on a Lazy Susan, so you'll feel right at home here.
The Schoolhouse Restaurant is located at 8031 Glendale Milford Rd., Camp Dennison, OH 45111. (For more information, visit their website here.) Have you ever been to this unique restaurant before? If so, let us know what your experience was like!
