The Buckeye State might not be particularly known for sushi, but that doesn't mean great sushi restaurants don't exist in Ohio -- it just means you have to search a little harder to discover them. And in Parma, Ohio, we've made quite a discovery: Watami Revolving Sushi Bar. The first revolving sushi bar in Ohio, this restaurant offers delicious food and an (ahem) all-around awesome dining experience.
What's your go-to sushi order? A spicy salmon roll or California roll? Ramen? Sashimi? A veggie roll, perhaps?
All of the above, with a side of salted edamame? Same. That's just one of the reasons why we're over-the-moon about today's feature destination.
Watami Revolving Sushi Bar is the first restaurant of its kind in Ohio, offering a delightful and wholly unique dining experience.
Waiting on servers to take and deliver food orders is so last year. At Watami, the food is right there for the taking, flowing through the dining room on a seemingly infinite loop of fresh-made plates.
Similar to Chinese dim sum, revolving sushi bars let diners enjoy a range of delicious plates over the course of a leisurely meal. Watami Sushi's revolving plates bear soups, salads, spring rolls, gyoza, cooked and raw sushi rolls, nigiri sushi, and special rolls; a colorful and abundant procession 'round the restaurant.
In addition to the overall fun factor of the dining experience, the moving "buffet" lets diners spy before they buy, checking out what each item looks like and then reading its description on the menu.
Prices for most items are $2.50, $2.95, and $3.75, making it quite affordable to try anything (and everything!) that catches your eye.
Prefer your meal not delivered on a conveyer belt? No problem; peruse the menu and request one of Watami's made-to-order dishes like fried tempura or piping-hot ramen.
When you're craving sushi in Ohio, consider venturing up to Parma for a meal at our state's very own revolving sushi bar.
