We’ve done the (no so) hard work for you and discovered a small, locally owned chocolate factory that’s perfectly located in Findlay Market and truly has some of the best chocolate you’ll find anywhere. Maverick Chocolate Co. is doing things their own way and hand-making everyone’s favorite sweet in the purest way possible, and we promise it’s everything you’ve dreamed of and more.
A local Cincinnati family had always loved the idea of running their own business, but when they came up with the idea for a chocolate factory, their plans all seemed to come together.
Inspired by chocolate from around the world, the family set out to do things their own way, hence the name "Maverick." Thankfully, their way happens to make smooth, flavorful chocolate created with much love, care, and creativity.

As a "bean to bar" factory, the chocolate all begins with the perfectly selected and ethically sourced cacao beans.
Maverick gets their beans from countries such as Belize, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Peru, and they are in direct communication with the actual growers.
The beans are searched by hand, to ensure that only the best are used to make the chocolate. The ideal beans are then roasted to perfection, depending on the type of chocolate that they are making.
The process of creating the perfect piece of chocolate is much more involved than you may think, and Maverick has it down to an art form.
Ingredients are added to create their unique flavors, then the chocolate is poured into a variety of molds to make bars, truffles, and other sweet treats. The chocolate is hand-wrapped and beautifully packaged, ready to go home with you.
The offerings you'll find at Maverick Chocolate are unlike any others in the area.
Favorites include Fahrenheit 513 Dark Chocolate (with a spicy kick), Prohibition Milk Chocolate (made with Bourbon), and Lemon Lavender White Chocolate.
They also offer specialty treats different times of the year, such as heart boxes filled with truffles for Valentine's Day and chocolate bunnies for Easter.
But even if you do place an online order, we still recommend making time to go down to the shop and factory and learn about this amazing process and the even more amazing results.
You can watch (and smell) the chocolate being made and even taste a few samples.
