Fat City was the creation of local pitmaster Don King. Like many pitmasters, his love of barbecue came from grilling meats for his loved ones, especially after he learned how to smoke ribs. King discovered his own way of smoking that he dubbed "California style", and authentic Golden State BBQ was officially born!
The result is a menu full of mouthwatering meats, each of which has its own Fat City spin on them. Most people would agree that southern-style barbecue reigns over all, but Fat City is definitely giving the South a run for its money. The community apparently agrees as they've garnered awards such as "Best BBQ" from Best of San Joaquin.
When you've got a craving for lip-smackin' good meats, a meat plate is definitely the way to go. Fat City offers one meat, two meat, and three meat plates. You can also purchase the Family Pack which comes with a rack of ribs, half-pound of your choice of meat, one pint of chili, one point of mac and cheese, and a large salad.
However, Fat City's sandwiches are absolutely divine and should not be ignored. Every bite of their famous Hot Link Sandwich will have you wanting more. Other popular choices include the Rib Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the Tri-Tip Sandwich.
