Stay Overnight In The 140 Year-Old MacCallum House Inn, An Allegedly Haunted Spot In Northern California

For some people, there’s just something "appealing" about a haunted house. The MacCallum House Inn is located in the beautiful town of Mendocino.

Built in 1882, the house was a wedding present for the original occupants, Daisy and Alexander MacCallum.

The beautiful home was built in what was called the “pointed cottage” style back in the day.

After Daisy was widowed, she and her son, Donald, continued to live here.

No one is really sure why, but apparently, over the years, there have been numerous reports of unexplained happenings in the room that used to belong to Donald as well as in other parts of the home.

These paranormal activities have included apparitions moving about, movement of dresser drawer handles, and other inexplicable occurrences.

Sitting and taking in the outstanding views from the upper floor of the inn provides an opportunity to reflect upon the history (and happenings) here.

This gabled window hearkens back to the early architecture of the home.

Beautiful yet a bit haunting, it makes you wonder if the reported ghosts are keeping a watchful eye over all those who dare to come onto the property.

Today the inn, despite its haunted reputation, is a popular accommodation option.
