8 Winter Festivals In North Dakota That Are Simply Unforgettable
Whether you are ready for it or not, the cold season is here! Celebrate winter and all that comes with it through some of North Dakota’s winter fairs and festivals held across the state. There are pretty big shows and events coming up, so get ready and get out there to enjoy all the season has to offer.
1. Christmas on the Prairie - West Fargo
See the beautiful pioneer village of Bonanzaville transform into a Christmas wonderland! You can have an early 1900s holiday experience through various activities and events held here on December 3rd, 2016.
2. HollyDazzle Festival of Lights - Grand Forks
Watch in amazement at the gorgeously decorated floats and vehicles travel down Demers Avenue in Grand Forks. The HollyDazzle Festival of Lights certainly does dazzle hundreds of people as they watch the parade. Alongside the light parade, there will be fireworks, vendors, activities, and more.
3. Dickinson Holiday Craft Show - Dickinson
Browse through delightful holiday treats, crafts, gifts, and more in Dickinson on December 3rd at the 26th Annual Dickinson Holiday Craft Show. Get everything you need for the holidays, from the decorations, handmade greeting cards, and delicious sweets.
4. Frostival - Fargo
Embrace the cold of the north by taking part in this fun experience! The first Frostival was a hit in early 2016, and now you can do it again (or catch it if you missed it last time) early 2017.
5. Bismarck Holiday Showcase - Bismarck
Get your holiday shopping done at the ultimate holiday shopping experience - the Bismarck Holiday Showcase. Over 200 vendors will be selling, sampling, and showing off their products here. It is hosted by Pride of Dakota, so every vendor is from here! Local fares and unique, home-made gifts are abundant.
6. North Dakota Winter Show - Valley City
This is one of the longest running events in North Dakota and can't be missed! The North Dakota Winter Show will be going into its 80th year in March of 2017, and you will definitely want to go. Through the vendors, showcases, and good rodeo fun, this is a must do.
7. Dickens Village Festival - Garrison
Celebrate the timeless story
A Christmas Carol
by Charles Dickens when the town of Garrison transforms itself into the very world Dickens lived in, Victorian era London. There are horse drawn carriage rides, plenty of people in costume, food, holiday crafts, and of course Santa will be making an appearance! You can even show off your throwing arm in their fruitcake throwing competition. This festival is super fun for all ages.
8. Lions Christmas in the Park - Grand Forks
Take a beautiful nighttime drive through the scenic Lincoln Drive Park in Grand Forks and see the mesmerizing lights put up for Christmas this year. The park will be open for drives from now until December 31st every day from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. It is absolutely beautiful!
