North Dakota isn’t on the top of many people’s lists of places to live, but I think that’s just because a lot of people don’t know why it should be. North Dakota isn’t for everyone, but there is so much opportunity here that more people should know about it. Even though it’d be great to keep the state for ourselves as North Dakotans, we can’t deny that there are some great reasons to live here, like these:

1. There's seemingly endless land and sky to set your eyes upon.

Us North Dakotans probably take these kind of views for granted after a while, but newcomers seeing just how expansive the prairies and huge skies here can be is truly an experience.

Whether you are a hiker, hunter, fisher, or simply just enjoy the outdoors, North Dakota has plenty of it - and we love it.
5. The small town community is alive and well here.

Though the classic small town is dying out to suburbia and urban areas in other parts of the world, North Dakota still has many small towns out there with thriving communities that keep those values going.
6. But we still have modern cities with new things to explore.

There's new businesses, events, and plenty of things to do always popping up in the cities of North Dakota. Some even consider places like Fargo to be one of the best places for new businesses to start and grow.
7. We know what true fun is like.

True fun doesn't have to be extravagant parties or fancy events and facilities, sometimes a bit of mud volleyball or just a bonfire out in a field with friends is all you need. It is true to the heart and keeps good friends close.
8. We can be proud of our state and all its accomplishments.

North Dakota can be thanked for a lot of things, including being the "breadbasket of the nation." We produce the most durum wheat, barley, sunflowers, honey, and more crops out of any other state. And that's just talking about the agricultural side of things!
9. It's sort of a hidden gem that we get to enjoy without all the tourists.

North Dakota is actually one of the least visited states, but in a way, that's convenient. We get to enjoy the state and all it has to offer in our own secret kind of way without having to share it.
10. The seasons are beautiful here and we aren't stuck with just one.

Though many outsiders think we have an endless winter, we actually have a full array of seasons we get to experience every year. Fall and spring may tend to run short, but summer is always beautiful and lush, and to be honest, winter can be just as gorgeous too! At least it isn't like some states that have just heat or just cold all year round, and this way we get snow on Christmas, too.
