Escape To Lake Sakakawea For A Beautiful North Dakota Nature Scene
Nestled in central North Dakota is one of the largest reservoirs in the United States; it’s called Lake Sakakawea – after the Lemhi Shoshone woman of the same name – and it’s a stunningly beautiful escape that, depending on where you’re located, may not even be terribly far from home. It’s home to its very own state park (the appropriately-named Lake Sakakawea State Park) and it’s truly the perfect escape from real life for the person who loves natural beauty. This beautiful lake in North Dakota might be man-made, but over the decades it’s become a stunning testament to the beauty of wild North Dakota.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Tori Jane Ostberg plays with tornadoes for fun. When she's not out chasing the biggest and baddest storms mama nature has to offer, she can usually be found writing something, somewhere, or exploring the United States with her camera.
