One Of The Tallest Waterfalls In America Is Right Here In New York And You Need To See It
If you’re at all familiar with the Finger Lakes region of our great state, then you know just how many breathtaking waterfalls can be found out in this area of New York. While you may have assumed that our largest waterfall was Niagara Falls, the tallest free-falling waterfall east of the Mississippi River is actually hiding right here by Cayuga Lake!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Like almost all of our state parks, the Empire Passport is accepted here, otherwise you'll need to pay an $8 vehicle entrance fee, which you'll completely forget about once you see this incredible natural wonder.

The Gorge Trail stays open year round, but the other trails only remain open from April through October. If you decide not to take the Gorge Trail, there is also the South Rim Trail that is just over a mile long and the North Rim Trail that is 1.5 miles long, giving you views that overlook the gorge.

A photographer's paradise, this waterfall and the entire surrounding area is absolutely breathtaking. The 400-foot tall gorge will make you feel small in the best way possible.

Okay, so how do we get here? Like we said, you'll find this gem right along Cayuga Lake.
