Dining At This Hidden New York Castle Will Make You Feel Like You’re In A Fairy Tale
It’s easy to get use to going out to the same local restaurants that we have the pleasure of having right in our hometown, but every Blue Moon it’s nice to switch things up a bit and go somewhere unique. A romantic dining destination that’s a great spot to bring someone special or just to simply spoil yourself, there’s a restaurant in New York that’s inside of an actual castle and it’s absolutely magical.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Right in Central New York just over an hour away from both Albany and Syracuse, Beardslee Castle is nothing short of enchanting.
Making you feel like royalty, the limestone castle has experienced two major fires since originally being built but still manages to look as amazing as ever in modern times.
The last fire to take place was in 1989 just 70 years after the first one. It wasn't until after being abandoned for several years and undergoing two years of restoration that the current owners would open the restaurant back up in 1994.
A longtime favorite place to bring someone special or to even have your wedding, the amazing dishes you'll find served on the main floor are from a menu that changes weekly.
The Dungeon features a casual menu during dinner hours and also has a 250 bottle wine list and over a hundred beers available to you. One of the largest wine selections you'll ever find in Central New York!
But that's not all, it gets even better! Coming up on August 18th and 26th, the castle is hosting a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show that isn't always offered throughout the year.
