The Amazing One-Of-A-Kind Store You’ll Only Find In Buffalo
If you’re a Buffalonian, you probably have an idea of which store we’re featuring. The Lexington Co-Op is a local gem and one of the best places around to grab fresh produce, locally-made food items, and basically any delicacy you can imagine. This is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience you can only have in Buffalo. Read on to see what makes it so great!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

You can find them at 807 Elmwood Avenue and 1678 Hertel Avenue, respectively.

The Lexington is a cooperative market, meaning it is owned by members of the community. Currently, the Lexington Co-Op has over 10,000 owners who strive daily to make the stores great!

One of the Co-Op's missions is to promote sustainability and support the community. They achieve these goals by partnering with local farms for fresh produce and paying special attention to packaging choices.

According to their website, over 60% of the Lexington Co-Op's produce section is organic, and the store itself is 25% organic overall. You don't find that at your average grocery store!

The Lexington Co-Op also partners with well-known brands to stock their shelves. And speaking of stocked shelves... the Co-Op offers freshly made goods so you can grab and go as you please!

Take a look at the menu for Lexi's Kitchen to see what the co-op is serving up fresh and hot today! The hot bar is open from 7am-10pm daily, with soups, sandwiches, and meal items fresh and ready for your convenience. If you're on the go in the morning, you can grab a breakfast sandwich or wrap from 7-10am.

Fresh flowers from local growers are one of the best non-food items you'll find at this Buffalo marketplace. Treating yourself on occasion is 100% necessary!

One of the main goals for the Lexington Co-Op is to become a net-zero business by 2050. Today, they recycle nearly 50% of their solid waste - with food scraps from the kitchen and produce department being used as compost by local groups. These are just a few of the ways this store is so unique... and so completely Buffalo.

And we're not just talking about the amazing varieties of coffee available. Both co-op stores are designed with LED lights, large windows, and extra insulation to save on heat and lighting needs. This unique store is everything a food (and environmental) lover could ever hope for!
