9 Sandwiches In Buffalo You Have To Try Before You Die
Sometimes, a simple sandwich hits the spot more than a fancy five-course meal ever could. If you’re a Buffalonian, you already know that our sandwiches (while seldom simple) are always satisfying! Since we love embracing our favorite foods, here are 9 Buffalo sandwiches you have to try before you die.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

This list wouldn't be complete without featuring the famous beef on weck. This sandwich is a Buffalo staple item, and for good reason! You'll find this on the menu at several local restaurants, but our favorite place to take a bit of this beef sandwich is at the Bar Bill Tavern in East Aurora.

This isn't exactly a classic yet, but we have a feeling it will be soon! The Breuben at Big Ditch has corned beef brined in Excavator rye brown ale, along with the typical reuben toppings of sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and house made Thousand Island dressing. The result? This sandwich is amazing.

Yes, there is a sandwich hiding under all that sauce! The meatball sandwich at Chef's is just about as delicious as they come.

Oh, the chicken finger sub. We could practically write a love song about this Buffalo sandwich, it's that good. Almost every pizzeria and sandwich shop around the 716 offers this classic sub on their menu. They're all amazing.

Jimmy's Cuban from Joe's Deli is like a grilled ham and cheese, but on steroids. Grilled ciabatta bread is filled with pork loin, Sahlen's ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and honey mustard sauce. If your mouth is watering just thinking about it, you might want to taste it for yourself!

For the vegetarians in the crowd (or if you're just not in the mood for meat), Globe Market offers up an incredible option! The Grilled Veggie sandwich has marinated eggplant, zucchini, and red pepper with balsamic dressing, pesto, and goat cheese. It's to die for - even if you are a carnivore!

Okay, if we're being honest, any menu item at The Melting Point is completely worth the calories. Our favorite, however, is the No. 28 – brie, gouda, and cheddar cheeses perfectly melted around apples, caramelized onions, and a drizzle of honey. It's amazing, but don't just take our word for it! Add this Buffalo sandwich to your must-try list ASAP.

No, this sandwich doesn't actually cost a million dollars. But to be honest, we might consider ordering it even if it did. A spinach burger is topped with tomato, mixed greens and sprouts, and cashew cream sauce. Get it with a cold pressed juice at Ashker's and let your tastebuds do a happy dance!

Last but not least... every college-aged Buffalonian's favorite sandwich spot. Jim's Steak Out offers up dozens of delicious sandwich options, but our favorite is the Jim's Famous Hoagie. Order it with steak or chicken, and see what the fuss is all about!
