This Just Might Be The Most Beautiful Hike In All Of New York
One of the many reasons that makes New York such a great place to live in if you love adventure, is that our state is filled with so many amazing hikes. From our tallest mountains in the High Peak region to our trails that will keep you close to the ground, there’s a wide variety of hikes that can fit everyone’s needs! While I’ve already featured an easy hike to a jaw-dropping waterfall and one that will bring you to an aboveground cave, I decided to pick another less strenuous trail to focus on today that will bring you to one of the most beautiful places you can visit out in nature.

Located in the small town of Garrison just a couple miles south of Cold Spring, you can explore a one-mile long trail that will bring you to an unbelievable place.
Here you have it! The Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary. A head's up before you make your trip here, the parking lot for this trail is relatively small in size. The earlier you arrive the better.

The Constitution Marsh serves as a vital natural habitat for the Hudson River and is a short walk from Indian Brook Falls!
What's better than killing two birds with one stone? (Excuse the terminology, I promise I have not forgotten that this sanctuary focuses on the protection of birds.) You can park in the sanctuary parking lot and in less than ten minutes after you begin your walk in the opposite direction of the marsh's trail, you'll quickly discover Indian Brook Falls not far from the road!
The trail's terrain is what you would expect one to be in the Hudson Highlands area, with some rocky and steep areas along the way.
Don't worry! This trail is great for visitors of all ages and is a favorite for those with families that enjoy getting outside. All you need to do is make sure you have on a good pair of shoes/boots and watch your step like always!
Pictured above, you can see one of the many benches that can be found along the quick one-mile round trip trail. It is also to be noted that pets are not allowed here. Sorry furry friends!
At the end of the trail you'll find what you've been hiking for, the 700-foot long boardwalk that brings you out amongst the tidal marsh.
The boardwalk which was built in memory of the sanctuary's late biologist and warden James P. Rod, has become the main reason why visitors come to hike this trail. The 270-acre marsh on the Hudson River is the perfect place to soak in the outdoors and enjoy some bird watching!
During New York's winter months, the Constitution Marsh turns into the prime location to watch for eagles!
