The One Of A Kind Festival You Won’t Find Anywhere But New Mexico

New Mexico knows how to put on a balloon festival. While other states may have similar events, none of those spectacles are on the scale of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. It’s the largest ballooning event on the planet and also the most photographed. Each October, more than 800,000 people flock to Duke City to witness this once-in-a-lifetime sight. After looking at these images, you’re going to want to be one of them.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Balloon Fiesta Park is located at 4401 Alameda Boulevard NE in Albuquerque, but you’re going to want to take advantage of the Park and Ride system. Visit the official website for more practical planning information.

In 2017, the festival will take place from October 7th until October 15th. Book early because this unique fiesta is on many people’s bucket lists. In the meantime, kick back and watch this gorgeous video of the event.
