Visit This One Epic New Mexico Pumpkin Patch For The Ultimate Fall Experience

Fall is definitely here and that means we’re treated to spectacular foliage, pumpkin flavored goodies galore and, of course, actual pumpkins. A trip to the pumpkin patch is a fun autumn tradition and there are many in New Mexico to choose from. However, McCall’s Pumpkin Patch in Moriarty stands out because it feels like a farm and a fairground rolled into one.

There are a full day’s worth of activities packed into the 320-acre farm.

This family owned and operated endeavor features complex corn mazes that are also works of art. The maze covers 16 acres. Here is this year’s design.

There are several routes through each maze. You can also turn the experience into a trivia game, where a correct answer steers you in the right direction.

A general admission ticket covers the corn maze, a hayride to the pumpkin patch so that you can pick out the perfect pumpkin, and much more.

Pumpkins must be purchased separately, but prices are very reasonable.

At McCall's, there are plenty of places to snuggle with animals.

Cheering at the pig races is always a highlight.

Yes, that’s an actual pig-racing track!

Little ones love to ride the cow train.

And everyone anticipates the hourly pumpkin launch, during which pumpkins are blasted out of a cannon.

You can race pedal karts…

Or explore Lil’ Boomtown.

Mine for gemstones, ride a mechanical bull or try a game of paintball - these activities cost extra.

There’s plenty of food available. If the standard burgers and hot dogs don’t appeal, indulge in some delicious barbecue instead.

The farm is open on weekends, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (last admission at 4:00 p.m.).

McCall’s is located at 34 McCall Lane in Moriarty.

Tips: To reduce your wait time, buy your tickets in advance, online. Then, when you arrive, wait in the separate e-ticket line. Also, families with small children tend to have an easier time without strollers since the terrain is uneven.
