Where are the best waterfall hikes in New Mexico?

With awesome waterfalls comes awesome waterfall hikes, and we have a bunch of favorites to share. Some of the best hiking trails with waterfalls in New Mexico are truly awe-inspiring and nothing short of amazing, like Travertine Falls Trail, in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness. The hike to the falls is just over one mile long, easy, and kind of a gamble – the falls are seasonal, so be sure to arrive during snowmelt or following good rains. Then, go check out the Jemez Falls Trail, which is under a mile long (0.7 miles), super easy, and truly epic. Jemez Falls is one of the waterfalls you’ll hear a lot about if you ask the locals. Then, head to the Bridal Veil Falls and Grand View Trail, which is tougher and longer at just under eight miles long but it features amazing waterfalls (at least two of them), riparian wildlife, trestle ruins, and more. It’s not just about the falls in that case! Finally, check out the Upper Falls Trail at Bandelier National Monuments. It’s 2.9 miles in length and easy; along the way you’ll experience epic views and a truly lovely waterfall finish.
