Hiking in the Land of Enchantment is always plentiful, but some hikes will simply blow you away. This easy hike in Santa Fe National Forest brings you throughout three different waterfalls for the ultimate hiking experience. While most waterfall hikes in New Mexico take a lot of time and effort, this hike is short and sweet while still surrounding you with the sound of rushing water from multiple beautiful waterfalls.
Welcome to Jemez Falls Trail! This easy and unique hike features multiple waterfalls within a beautiful surrounding.
At just under one mile long, this out-and-back hike won't take too much time, but there's so much to see. Much of the trail is surrounded by beautiful trees with rock formations in the distance, and the sound of rushing water is plentiful.
Though most of the trail is solid dirt, there are many rocks and different routes, so it can be as easy or difficult as you like. Feel free to take the easy route for a more laid-back hike and take in your surroundings. There are plenty of trees surrounding the trail, so no matter what time of year it is, there will always be some shade.
Once you get to the end, you'll find incredible views of Jemez Falls. The serene water falls down upon the rocks, offering a relaxing atmosphere.
From there, you can climb down to the bottom of the falls for another waterfall, or wade in the small waterfall pool at the top.
The rocky surfaces make this hike exciting while not taking too much out of you. With multiple waterfalls, this is truly an enchanting trail unlike any other.
This waterfall filled hike is perfect for people of all ages and levels of experience. While it may be tempting, we do not recommend cliff jumping, as the water beneath is much too shallow.
For a beautiful hike within the Santa Fe National Forest that features multiple magical waterfalls, Jemez Falls Trail is the perfect hike, any time of year.
The Jemez Falls trailhead can be found at Jemez Falls Campground inside the Santa Fe National Forest.
