Are you a member of a private club? New Jersey has golf clubs, tennis clubs, racquetball clubs, country clubs, dining clubs, and boat clubs, but many are fairly exclusive. Some are open to all with a hefty (or reasonable) membership fee. Of course, there are a few that anyone can enjoy! One example is The Yacht Club in Edgewater. It’s a restaurant, not technically a club, but it sure FEELS fancy. With delicious food and waterfront views, it doesn’t disappoint.

Here’s what you need to know! The 13,000-square-foot space gives off some serious vacation vibes. Located on the pier of the Edgewater Commons Shopping Center, this eatery is brought to you by The Hudson River Hospitality Group, owners of Molos in Weehawken. Executive chef Gregory Zapantis is a culinary ambassador for Greek cuisine and has been a member of the prestigious Hellenic Chef’s Club since 2011.

Sushi Chef Steve Song apprenticed under Chef Masa Takayama at Masa in NYC. Masa is one of New York’s most expensive, and most exquisite, sushi restaurants. It is a 3-star Michelin eatery with exceptional cuisine. These talented chefs come together to create a menu of popular American seafood dishes including Maine and Connecticut Lobster Rolls, Maryland Crab Cakes, a Lobster Claw BLT, Popcorn Shrimp, and hand-rolled sushi made to order.  There will also be a dedicated oyster shucking area at the bar.

Though I have not been able to dine here yet (it just opened this week), delectable menu items that appeal to me include shrimp tacos, linguine with clam sauce, lobster mac n’ cheese, skirt steak with sweet potato fries, and the grass-fed beef burger with aged cheddar. At the bar, you’ll find sangria and specialty cocktails, flavored martinis, cider, draft beer, and wine. Everything is surprisingly affordable! Learn more and find their menu here.
