If you're looking for a truly unique dining experience in New Jersey, make a reservation at Rat's Restaurant. It's easy to access from just about anywhere in the Garden State, but once you step inside the gates, you'll be whisked away to another world.
It's hard to imagine a restaurant in a setting any more beautiful than Rat's Restaurant in Hamilton, New Jersey.
This French bistro is plopped right in the middle of Grounds for Sculpture, an incredibly detailed and creative garden and park that's located just off I-295, close to Trenton.
Step inside, and you'll be whisked away to a fairytale world.
Visit when the weather is nice so you can experience dining outside, completely surrounded by stunning artwork and sculpted gardens.
From the patio, you can see the Japanese Bridge that was inspired by Claude Monet's famous painting.
At night, the sculpture garden turns into a glowing work of art, and so even if the sun is down by the time you finish your meal, you'll still be treated to a stunning sight.
Of course, all this beauty would be wasted if Rat's Restaurant wasn't one of the finest places to dine in the Garden State.
The menu changes frequently, and always offers plenty of gourmet, seasonally-inspired appetizers to kick off your meal.
The entree selections are French-inspired, and you'll find steaks paired with seasonal vegetables alongside dishes like coq au vin, which is one of the most popular dishes.
Occasionally, you'll get lucky and get to try a special featured entree, like these gorgeously plated scallops.
Like any good and fancy French restaurant, the dessert selection is to die for. Be sure you save room for something sweet.
