The Tillman Ravine & Walpack Cemetery hike is a Jersey gem!
If two miles is too much for you, you can shorten the hike by skipping Walpack Cemetary. However, I wouldn't pass it by. The cemetery dates back to the early 1800s and is fairly well-preserved.
There are over 100 graves and you’ll likely recognize some of the names. Thomas Van Campen may ring a bell. The Van Campens were a wealthy family in the area who owned the Van Campen’s Inn. John Adams is said to have spent the night there. You’ll also see several Rosenkranz, a Dutch family that settled the area back in the 1700s.
