With beginnings as a humble food cart back in 1940, Gilley's Diner is a Portsmouth institution.
They also serve variations on the burgers in the form of this grilled cheesey steak. It comes on crispy buttered bread with melted cheese, grilled onions and tender steak.
Or better yet, make sure to get a side of Gilley's poutine made with potatoes from Fryeburg, Maine, Pineland Farm fresh cheese curds and homemade savory beef gravy.
Gilley’s Diner is located at 175 Fleet St., Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They’re open Monday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Check them out online, visit them on Facebook or give them a call on 603-431-6343.
