Strolling through the three-acre botanical garden is like a dream. The peace and quiet of the garden is a welcome respite from the nearby chaos of Las Vegas.
As you take the leisurely hike through the garden, you'll witness over 350 species of cactus and succulent species. Approximately half of them are native to the southwest, but you'll also spot species from places like Australia and South America.
During the spring and summer, the area is alive with the different colors of blossoming plants. It's hard to believe such a tranquil place is located just minutes away from the chaos of the city.
The entire garden is beautifully manicured and presented for visitors. This truly is an unexpected gem that is sure to blow you away. Cactus and chocolate may be an odd combination, but it definitely works out.
Prickly pears, giant saguaro, ocotillo, barrel cactus...the list goes on and on for what types of cactus you'll see in the garden. Some of these species, such as the saguaro, are considered extremely rare. It's a real treat to see these fascinating plants in the flesh.
The Botanical Garden also contains a "Living Machine" which is used to process and recycle all of the factory's waste water without the use of chemicals. The water is then used to keep the garden thriving!
A walk through this cactus garden is a must after you visit the Ethel M Chocolate Factory. Admission to both the factory and garden are completely free of charge. Grab a sweet treat and enjoy the beauty of this gorgeous garden stroll!
