This Abandoned Nevada House Is Thought To Be One Of The Most Haunted Places On Earth
What is it about abandoned places that intrigue us? Perhaps, it’s the untold stories that fill our imaginations. Maybe it is knowing that rooms once bustling with life now sit eerily still. Either way, those who find intrigue and excitement in abandoned places will want to find themselves on the threshold of Nevada’s Micca House. There, not only will you come across an interesting abandoned place, but also, one of the most haunted.
The old west is still very much alive in parts of Nevada. Historic homes and buildings line the streets of Paradise City, a town of just over 100 residents.
The Micca House is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places as it was built in 1885 and held significant importance to the small Nevada community.
In 1902, The Micca House was purchased by Alfonso Pasquale. Pasquale was originally from the town of Sagliano Micca, Italy, which he would name the house after.
The words "Micca Saloon" can still be seen as remnants of the original sign that remains on the building.
Pasquale proceeded to grow the store into a hotel and saloon. In the many years that followed, the historic house served as a post office where some of the original postal boxes still remained more than a hundred years later.
The Micca House has seen many people come through its doors and has plenty of stories to tell. One particularly hair-raising story is well known amongst the townspeople.
When the horse was found, it was in surprisingly good health! Those who understand the Micca House claim that the horse was looked after by a former employee.
The ghostly kind-hearted employee is said to still walk the grounds of the Micca House to this day.
Paradise Valley residents have fun with their town’s local haunting hotspot. It is not uncommon to find Micca House ghost tours offered in time for Halloween. Let this spooky abandoned residence and former business bring back the old west as well as the spirits who once called it home. Please note that the Micca House is private property and trespassing without permission is strictly prohibited.
