The Quirky Alien Themed Cafe In Nevada That You Have To Try At Least Once
Nevada has more than its fair share of alien themed attractions. We even have a road named the Extraterresial Highway, with plenty of attractions for the most die-hard alien enthusiasts. It can be nice to visit one of these places every once in awhile and immerse yourself in the quirkiness of our strange state. The Area 51 Alien Travel Center is an alien themed cafe that is guaranteed to be one of the weirdest stops you’ve ever made on a road trip.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
It's hard to miss Area 51 Alien Travel Center. The lime green exterior sticks out a bit amid the desert landscape, to say the least. You'll find it located in Amargosa Valley along the Veterans Memorial Highway.
If you're one of those people with a crazy interest in aliens, this is the place for you. Yes, it's a pitstop...but it's the most memorable pitstop you'll come across. The interior is covered in alien themed decorations. It's small, but it's unique.
The Alien Center actually encompasses three separate things: the diner, an alien themed mini mart, and (ahem) an alien themed brothel out back. This is truly one of those "only in Nevada" types of places.
The restaurant serves typical American diner fare. It's cheap, it's good, and it will keep you going until you reach wherever you're going. The diner is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is family friendly (if you were wondering).
Definitely take a minute to check out the weird alien artifacts. You'll even get to see a "real" alien skeleton that was found at Area 51 and preserved. How cool is that?
Of course, no alien themed attraction is complete without a wacky gift shop full of kitschy memorabilia. Grab yourself a t-shirt or a mug to commemorate your visit to one of the weirdest diners in the country. Actually, it might even be the weirdest in the universe!
The Alien Travel Center is a testament to the fact that there's always something weird waiting for you in the middle of the Nevada desert. Our state sure is strange, but that's just how we like it.
