Ahh, the simple pleasure of a juicy hot dog on a soft bun. Is there anything more American? This little restaurant in Lincoln takes that simple joy to a whole new level with its huge array of toppings and totally charming atmosphere.
FlyDogz is a casual family-owned hot dog joint that opened in Lincoln in 2017.
Inside, you'll find a cheerful jumble of colors, adorable art, and an easygoing vibe. The folks working behind the counter are friendly and passionate about their work.
The menu can seem a little overwhelming at first. You start out by choosing your dog. There are plenty of options to go with every taste and budget - even vegan dogs and bison dogs!
Then you'll choose your toppings. There are more than 30 on the menu and you can pile on as many as you want. This is your chance to get creative and go crazy.

Don't expect the type of hot dog experience you'll find at a ball game. A sign near the door warns guests that they could be waiting up to 15 minutes to receive their order. Every dog is made fresh to order, so it does take a little time. If the kids get bored waiting in line, send them over to the chalkboard wall where they can doodle until it's time to go.
It's worth the wait, though. No matter what you get - whether it's your own invention or one of the suggested combos - you can be sure it will be amazing.
Hot dogs are a pretty fun food already, but FlyDogz manages to make them even more fun. The Fly Dog, pictured below, comes on a hamburger bun with burger fixins.
