Most Nebraskans Have Never Heard Of This Fascinating Naval Museum

Nebraska isn’t just landlocked; it’s actually the only triple-landlocked state in the country. That means that you have to travel through at least three states (or two states and a Canadian province) to reach an ocean. Knowing this, it might seem a little unusual that there’s an impressive naval museum here, including a warship and a submarine.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Visit Freedom Park at 2497 Freedom Park Road, just down the street from Eppley Airfield along the Missouri River. Check out the Freedom Park Facebook page for special tour information, events, and news.

While you’re in the area, look upstream for the unique and fascinating abandoned East Omaha Bridge.
