When you’re in Lincoln, there’s one place you absolutely have to visit for a drink: Duffy’s Tavern. It’s one of Nebraska’s longest-operating bars and it continues to draw in patrons of all kinds. From college kids to businesspeople to the older crowd, everyone seems to love spending an evening at Duffy’s.
Duffy's Tavern in Lincoln is a longtime local establishment that's been serving drinks, music, and good times since 1936.
One of Duffy's biggest draws is its live music shows. Local bands, national acts, and tons of comedians have taken to the stage here. Alternative legends Nirvana even played at Duffy's in the '90s.
Duffy's other claim to fame is its massive fishbowl cocktails. They come in huge fishbowl-size glasses with a bunch of straws so you can share with friends.
And trust us - they're so big that you will need some help. Don't forget a designated driver! Even when sharing, there's a whole lot of alcohol in these fishbowls.
There are some standard flavors along with special offerings, so you can try something new every time you visit. Enjoy them indoors or take them outside to the beer garden where you can gather around the fire pit with friends.
Feeling a little spicy? Check out Duffy's gigantic Moscow Mule fishbowl! Flavorful gin, sharp ginger beer, and fresh lime come together perfectly in the massive copper mug.
If a huge colorful fishbowl drink or Moscow Mule doesn't strike your fancy, check out another Duffy's specialty: the Bloody Mary made with the tavern's own world-famous mix. You can even take home a whole bottle of the mix for yourself and combine it with vodka and your choice of garnishes.
As COVID-19 continues to affect businesses daily, operations at Duffy's have changed a bit. On-stage performances have been suspended for now and curbside pickup is available for full bottles of liquor and some other menu items. Delivery is also available for whole bottles of liquor and wine, cans and bottles of beer, mixers, cups, and ice - pretty much everything you need for a fun night at home.
