Some require nothing more than a spirit of adventure. For a relatively short and sweet adventure in Wyoming that offers numerous spectacular payoffs, the hike to Paradise Falls is a gorgeous hike that wows around every corner and in every season.

Without a doubt, Sheridan boasts some of the most humbly scenic landscapes in the state.
Nestled at the foot of the grandiose Bighorn Mountains, there's no shortage of epic things to do in this vibrant region. That includes a trip into the Bighorns themselves.
There are numerous spectacular trails weaving their way through this beautiful mountain range in central Wyoming, but the hike to Paradise Falls is a little extra special.
Labeled by locals as one of the most beautiful hikes in the state outside of Yellowstone, the trail to Paradise Falls is a moderate 2.6-mile trek through ever-changing scenery.
The trail starts by descending into a lovely, foliage-lined creek valley, following the water as it meanders through the towering pine trees of the Bighorn National Forest.
Every corner offers a new sweeping view to take your breath away.
Massive granite formations create phenomenal canyon walls that are dusted with trees and wildflowers. Each rock wall is a fantastic natural sculpture that showcases Wyoming's geologic history in a brilliant new way.
The trail is steep in areas and traction is limited, so be sure to bring sturdy shoes and trekking poles.
Along the way, you'll encounter a few surprises intermixed with the expansive beauty. Keep your eyes peeled!
For some, the pinnacle of the hike is Paradise Falls itself, where a series of small cascades leads to a final stomach-turning drop over a sheer cliff face.
There are multiple ways to view the falls, but be extra cautious - these pocketed rocks are incredibly slippery.
But for others, the journey is just as memorable and rewarding, courtesy of the brilliant sights, sounds, and wildlife along the hike. Be sure to bring a camera!
