When you need to get some fresh air, head out to hike in Bighorn National Forest. This enormous preserve is home to all sorts of wildlife, and the trails showcase the most incredible alpine scenery around. You'll find breathtaking lakes, rocky cliff faces, stunning summits and more when you get out and explore.
Head out from the West Tensleep Trail Head to enjoy this scenic and invigorating hike in Bighorn National Forest.
This 10 mile out-and-back journey follows a creek and takes you into the heart of wild Wyoming.
You'll be able to enjoy views of Wyoming wilderness with nobody else around. As always, be sure to carry bear spray.
Along the way, take a short side trail and visit Mirror Lake. It's a great place to stop for lunch or a break before you head out to your final destination.
Most of the trail is well maintained and fairly gradual, but the last short stretch can be rocky and steep.
When Lost Twin Lake comes into your sight, you'll think you've found another world! The sharp cliff faces and azure water are breathtaking, to say the least.
Hike down to the shoreline for a dip, to test your fishing skills, or to set up camp. Now that you've made it, this lake is yours to enjoy!
