Mayville is located in southeastern Wisconsin, about 65 miles northwest of Milwaukee and 40 miles northeast of Madison. It’s near the Horicon Marsh, a wild area that is visited by scores of migratory birds.
The town was settled in the 1800s by farmers, and while industry and other businesses eventually arrived, it’s still an area surrounded by rich farmland.
You can enjoy some of the fruits of this landscape, so to speak, at Mayberry Farms. You will find this first-generation strawberry farm just east of downtown in the rolling hills near the Rock River. Every summer, scores of people flock here.
The main strawberry season arrives each year from mid to late June, and at Mayberry Farms, you can pick your own by the bucket.
There is nothing like a fresh strawberry that you’ve picked yourself – the flavor blows away any grocery store offering, and you can pick enough to make all of your summer desserts!
Mayberry Farms also sells other delicious farm fresh products like raw honey and farm fresh eggs. But it’s hard to top the flavor of the Mayberry Farms strawberries!
