Some markets (and bakeries!) in The Mountain State are destinations worthy of a daytime adventure from any corner of the state. Such is the case with this one-of-a-kind farm market and bakery nestled on a picturesque mountain plateau just to the south of the Eastern Panhandle.
Wardensville Garden Market and Bakery is filled with the delightful aromas of freshly baked pies, breads, and more.
Whatever your sweet tooth or appetite may be craving, you're sure to find a flavorful way to satisfy the callings.
At this in-house bakery, everything is made from scratch.
Nothing is more flavorful than a freshly made pie, loaf of bread, cookies, or a cinnamon roll!
The unique farm market opened in 2016 right on Main Street in Wardensville and that's precisely where the farm is too! Inside specially-constructed buildings, plants and vegetables are grown throughout the year — and then sold inside the market.
Other locally-sourced items are available as well, including honey!
And West Virginia maple syrup in a variety of flavors.
The business has become a favorite among the locals, who love the business model of putting local high school teens to work in an apprentice fashion, teaching them all aspects of running a farm and business. The teens are paid a fair wage, and the community overall benefits.
Plus, they learn how to make the BEST PIES in the county!
