Discover An Underground Wonderland In West Virginia At The Stunning Seneca Caverns

West Virginia is home to at least 2175 caves, but only a few are developed and open to the public. One of those amazing caves that anyone can visit is Seneca Caverns in Pendleton County.

Seneca Caverns is one of West Virginia's most beautiful caves.

The drive to the cave is a beautiful experience all on its own.

The cave contains incredible formations.

This is Goliath, formed about 45,000 years ago.

These formations are known as the Sand Dunes.

This is known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was once attached to the ceiling of the cave, but thousands of years ago it fell and became part of the floor.

This is the Cowboy Museum, where one formation looks like a cowboy buried upside down without his boots.

Asbury's Family Restaurant is located on the property.

You can get some delicious homestyle food after your cave tour.

You can also go gemstone mining!

The gift shop sells bags of mining rough, which visitors can then sift through to find treasures. People have found fool's gold, rose quartz, garnets, amethyst, and rubies.

Seneca Caverns is located at 3328 Germany Valley Road, Riverton, WV 26814.
