Your Taste Buds Will Love A Sweet Visit To This Maple Syrup And Honey Farm In West Virginia

In the running for the title of "Sweetest Farm In West Virginia" has got to be Hill n’ Hollow Family Farm and Sugarworks in Griffithsville. Specializing in both maple syrup and honey, this farm surely is a treat for the taste buds!

Up a dirt road in Griffithsville, West Virginia (in Lincoln County) is a working family farm that cranks out gallons and gallons of local maple syrup every year.

Here's where the magic happens: the sugar shack. See that steam coming out the top? That's water vapor being distilled out of the maple sap, allowing that sap to get thicker... and thicker... and thicker... until it turns into the pancake syrup you know and love.

It's a fascinating process, and Hill n' Hollow Farm occasionally opens up their farm to the public to allow you to observe how it all works... and taste the results.

Especially if you visit in late winter and early spring, don't be surprised to see lines of blue tubing criss-crossing the farm; that's how the maple sap gets from the trees to the sugar shack to be turned into syrup!

And while maple syrup is one of the farm's main products, it's not their only one! They also produce honey, lumber, and a variety of fresh vegetables.
