Blackwater Falls State Park is located in the Allegheny Mountains of Tucker County in West Virginia.
The crown jewel of this beautiful state park is the Blackwater Falls.
Named for the amber waters that are created by the tannic acid of fallen hemlock and red spruce needles, this towering waterfall is truly a sight to be seen.
The Blackwater Falls Boardwalk Trail is a quick and easy trail that’ll get you to the falls in just a few minutes.
The boardwalk trail will take you down 200 steps to get a closer look at the falls.
Along the way you’ll encounter several platforms, so you can stop for a moment and take in the view from all angles.
When you get to the bottom of the trail, you’ll have a front-row seat to one of the most mesmerizing waterfalls in West Virginia.
