Harman Blennerhassett built his mansion on this island in the Ohio River in 1798. It included a stunning 7,000 square feet.

The mansion burned to the ground in 1811, but was reconstructed between 1984 and 1991. Today, as many as 50,000 visitors tour it every year.

The mansion's opulent interior has been carefully reconstructed. The original furnishings were imported from all over the world.

You'll tour the mansion with the assistance of docents, who are dressed in period costume.

Take a 30-minute horse-drawn wagon tour to see the grounds and learn even more about the island.

The Putnam-Houser House is available to tour free of charge. This charming home wasn't originally located on the island. It was built in 1802 and still remains the same as the day it was built. It was moved to the island in 1986.

Admission to the park includes admission to the Blennerhassett museum in Parkersburg, the sternwheeler ride to the island, tour of the Blennerhassett Mansion, and the horse-drawn wagon ride. Adults pay $25; children $18.
