The Northrup Canyon Trail Will Show You A Completely New Side Of Washington

Northrup Canyon Trail in Washington offers a unique hiking experience with scenic views and lighter traffic.

Right outside of Electric, Washington is a trail that you probably haven't hiked before. It's called the Northrup Canyon Trail and will give you some fantastic views. The hike takes you right into a canyon where you'll be surrounded by rock on either side of the trail. The terrain is a little different from what you will typically find in Washington. Wear sturdy hiking boots because the ground is known for being rocky.

Northrup Canyon Trail gets lighter traffic as compared to other hikes in the state.

Take time to enjoy some lovely views and solitude as you make the trek.

This hike is about 6 miles in length and can be used for hiking and mountain biking. It is rated as moderate.

Lots of different kinds of trees live in the canyon including pine, willow and aspen trees.

It looks more like the Southwest than the Northwest in the canyon!

Along the trail, you'll come to an abandoned homestead.

It's in pretty good condition considering no one has lived there for years.

They kind of look like red rocks coming out of the ground.

Besides the lake at the halfway point, you'll see three ponds along the trail.

A lot of different animals live in the area, too.
