You Can Cut Your Own Flowers At The Festive Maris Farms Sunflower Days In Washington
Maris Farms in Buckley hosts Sunflower Days, a festival featuring seven acres of sunflower fields with various colors and varieties.
Sunflowers are a symbol of happiness and positivity, the very embodiment of warm, carefree summer days. They also happen to be uniquely beautiful.
Every August, Maris Farms hosts Sunflower Days, a four-week festival that allows guests to walk through the stunning flower fields, take photos, and even take home some sunflowers. We've all heard of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, but this is an underrated event that is equally as beautiful.
Maris Farms is located in Buckley, a small town in Pierce County near Enumclaw.
From the first blooms of spring to the final pumpkin patch weekend of fall, this farm stays pretty busy throughout the year.
It all starts with Baby Animals and Blooms Days, where you can check out the tulip fields and pet adorable animals like this.
You can even check out the Spring Farmers Market, if you can pry yourself away from the animals long enough.
By fall, everyone comes for the pumpkin patch and harvest festivities -- but in the meantime, breathtaking sunflower fields erupt all over the farm.
The sunflower fields are fairly new here, but the family has done an outstanding job with them.
During the Maris Farms Sunflower Days, you can walk through seven acres of sunflower fields and check out a dozen different colors and varieties of sunflowers.
Most people aren't even aware that there are that many.
Needless to say, this is a perfect place to take some pretty pictures, which you're more than welcome to do.
The sunflowers are also available for purchase at $3 per bloom.
While you're at the farm, check out the Concessions stand and treat yourself to a coffee, a corn dog, or some soft serve.
The snacks and sweets are an essential part of the experience.
This year's dates for Maris Farms Sunflower Days are August 14th - September 19th.
Tickets must be purchased in advance online, so plan accordingly.
