These adorable animals are certainly well cared for at Leavenworth Reindeer Farm, a family-run farm that has been caring for Santa's brood (and allowing visits) for years. And it doesn't have to be Christmastime for you to enjoy this magical place... it's open all year long.

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is situated in the foothills of the Cascades, just one mile from our Bavarian village of Leavenworth.

Leavenworth is known as Washington's Christmas village, so this is the perfect location for a reindeer farm.

The Woodland Caribou is now considered endangered, and the team at the farm aims to protect them as well as to educate visitors about their amazing and unique capabilities to survive and thrive in even the most extreme environments.

This is a USDA-certified farm and part of ROBA, the Reindeer Owners & Breeders Association of America.

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is currently open for public and private tours.

All appropriate precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of both the guests and staff.

Farm tours are available year-round, but they look a little different each season.

January and February are the best months to go for a snowy farm experience. Leavenworth also leaves the holiday lights up during those months. Spring and summer are also fantastic times to visit the farm.

Obviously, the most popular months to visit are November and December.

These tours come with complimentary cocoa, cider, and cookies and are a perfect prelude to Christmas. Of course, you'll want to buy your tickets early -- holiday season tours sell out fast.

Each tour starts with a 15-minute presentation led by one of the farm owners, followed by some important safety information.

Then, you'll be given reindeer food and enjoy an up-close-and-personal experience with Santa's little helpers.

Leavenworth Reindeer Farm tours are just $20 (free for ages two and under), and it's well worth the cost for this adorable experience.
