Spend an afternoon at one of these local cider mills and you'll be ready for harvest moons and changing leaves in no time. The following are just five best cider mills in Washington State to visit. There's nothing like sipping on fresh cider to put you in the mood for fall, right?
1. Lattin's Country Cider Mill and Farm, Olympia
Since 1976, this farm and cider mill has continued to grow fresh produce, make delicious cider, and sell freshly baked goods. They're open seven days a week and host a variety of fall events including an apple festival and a pumpkin patch.
2. Tieton Cider Works, Yakima
Tieton Cider Works makes its ciders using fruit from its 55-acre family orchard, Harmony Orchards. The first trees were planted on this land in 1920 and have been in the family ever since. Stop by to visit the Cider Bar, where you can enjoy a good drink, outdoor concerts, various events, and so much more.
3. Dragon's Head Cider, Vashon
Located on the beautiful Vashon Island, Dragon's Head Cider's tasting room is open on weekends. Their ciders are made completely traditionally, meaning apple juice concentrate is never used. Visit the orchard from May through October to enjoy your tastings by the trees, or visit the tasting room on Bank Road in Vashon for year-round tastings and events.
4. Alpenfire Cider, Port Townsend
Alpenfire Cider is a family-owned, organic orchard and cider mill located just outside the beautiful Port Townsend. The orchard also shares its property with wild animals, so they ask that you leave pets at home when you visit. When you stop at Alpenfire Cider, enjoy a flight or sip on a glass while nestled next to the trees for the perfect afternoon.
5. Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Chimacum
Located on the Olympic Peninsula, 12 miles south of Port Townsend, Finnriver Farm and Cidery is perfect for visiting on a fall day. Their cider is made in their barn, and they grow and source organic, wild-harvested, and seasonal ingredients. The Cider Garden is open throughout the year, and you can stop in for a drink, and attend one of Finnriver's many events, live music, tours, and more.
