One of the most underrated waterfalls in Vermont is Buttermilk Falls, a classic and stunning waterfall and swimming hole in southern Vermont.
Located in the town of Ludlow about a mile-and-a-half from Okemo Valley Ski Resort, Buttermilk Falls is a classic and local favorite waterfall and swimming hole in southern Vermont.
There is an upper falls and a lower falls at Buttermilk Falls. At the upper falls, you'll find a fairly deep olive-green natural pool and a 20-foot falls.
The middle falls is a great place to hang out and swim due to its large and calming pool. Further down stream, where the lower pools and falls are, there will be considerably fewer people.
In the surrounding area, there are plenty of rocks and bends in the river to explore.
The famous emerald color of this area is a wonderful natural attraction at the Buttermilk Falls.
