If you're anything like us, you've likely researched "waterfalls near me." And who could blame you? Waterfalls are some of nature’s most spectacular features, and there’s no better way to admire this one than from above. You and your friends will love checking out this tucked-away waterfall in Vermont with a gorgeous fairytale bridge. Here’s what you should know about visiting.
Texas Falls is a stunning cascade located in Hancock, Addison County. Though Texas Falls certainly isn’t a total secret, it’s not well-known to out-of-state visitors and is thus usually pretty quiet, even on sunny summer days.
The waterfall consists of two small drops in a narrow ravine. There’s a pretty pool wedged between them which often takes on an emerald or even turquoise hue, depending on the weather conditions.
This waterfall may be best admired by standing on the beautiful bridge that spans the ravine. You’ll have a prime view down to the swirling waters and frothing rapids.
The bridge is long and large enough for your whole group. You can listen to the rushing waters, take photos of the falls below, or pose for snapshots.
Bring a picnic lunch to this spot. There are some areas by the falls where you can comfortably sit down and dine while soaking up the natural ambiance.
Though the waters definitely do look tempting, you should be aware that the U.S. Forest Service has banned swimming at Texas Falls. This is because the slippery rocks and currents make for potentially dangerous conditions.
Visiting Texas Falls in Vermont is free. Be sure to bring a pal or two to share in the natural splendor!
