Now that it's fall, the days are shorter and we want to pack in as much as possible. These hikes are all under 5 miles and should take 2 or less hours to complete and have out of this world foliage views. 1. Snake Mountain, Addison
This moderate hike will take a few hours to complete and there are views galore to soak in as you go. Go all the way or just a part, either way the colors of fall will come alive.
2. Gile Mountain, Norwich
This is a quick and easy hike with wonderful views from the fire tower. This 1.4 mile trek is pretty easy so take the whole family along for one of the best kid-friendly hikes around Vermont.
3. Eagle Mountain, Milton
This easy 2 mile hike will take you to the highest point on Lake Champlain's shoreline and it's awesome.
4. Moss Glen Falls, Stowe
This hike is less than a mile and the gorgeous waterfall at the end is picture perfect making it one of the most scenic hikes in Vermont.
5. Mount Philo State Park, Charlotte
This beautiful hike has some sweeping views below the cliffs and the trail will take about 1.5 hours to complete.
6. Mt. Olga, Wilmington
You'll love this easy 1.8 mile loop. This is a view from the fire tower when it's summer... Just picture it in the fall!
7. Wheeler Mountain, Sutton
The rocky cliffs provide gorgeous views of the foliage. It will take about 2 hours for this 2.5 mile trek.
8. Elmore Mountain, Elmore
This hike is just over 4 miles which isn't exactly short and sweet, but the outlooks along the way are the perfect places to rest. Check out this view from the fire tower! Do the whole thing or just a section before fall is over this season!

9. Putney Mountain, Putney
The grassy summit is a great place to enjoy the colorful view. It will take just an hour to hike this ridge line that everyone will love.
