Well it seems like we've already seen it all this winter, and we're still in January. Record cold temperatures, mid season thaws, power outages and more. Isn't that enough for one winter? With that said, we've come up with some totally valid reasons why no one should visit VT this winter. While the tourist boards might lead you to believe otherwise, we'd like to keep our little state as crowd free as possible. We're doing you a favor by telling you the truth so you can stay home and get cozy.
We hope you'll share these tongue in cheek reasons with your friends so we can keep those wide open spaces to ourselves this winter.
1. There's nowhere to exercise.
If you do find a place to get a workout, there will be nothing to look at.
2. It's not very colorful.
Sure you've heard about our spectacular foliage, but nothing really pops the rest of the year.
3. The skies are pretty dull.
But we hear there are nice sunsets elsewhere... If you love the magic of a setting sun, you may want to check out a different state.
4. It's not very pretty.
Nothing is worse than a peaceful setting blanketed in white snow, am I right?
5. Everyone stays inside.
Sure, we may peek out the window every now and then, but we seek refuge within four walls and a roof.
6. Cars don't work in the winter.
Did you know that when it gets too cold, our cars don't work? It's true! Good luck trying to find alternate transportation!
7. And those other ways of getting around?
They are no fun at all.
8. Everything is frozen.
Forget exploring nature. It's all covered in ice!
9. You don't want to expose the kids to these harsh elements.
It could be dangerous, and most definitely not fun at all.
10. The food is terrible.
It's not fresh or delicious. If you must come, definitely don't go here.
11. You won't find a beer that's right for you.
No matter what your flavor is, we're all out. Sorry!
12. Vermonters are pretty boring.
No one likes to have fun here. Ever.
Now that we know the reasons why no one should visit VT, the truth is, we love visitors. And for those moving to the Green Mountain State, here are a few things you quickly learn when you move to Vermont.
