One of the greatest things about the Beehive State is our many green spaces. From our largest national monument to our tiniest pocket park, there are so many places to explore and play! Here's a pretty park in Provo that's nestled right in the mountains, and if you've never visited, you should add it to your list. Check out South Fork Park:
Welcome to South Fork Park! This little oasis in the mountains is the perfect place to spend a day with your loved ones.
You'll find the park in Provo Canyon, surrounded by natural beauty.
Address: 4988 South Fork Road, Provo, UT 84604
South Park Creek runs right through the park, adding the sound of gurgling water to the atmosphere.
There's a large, flat, shallow spot in the creek that's the perfect place to wade and splash on a hot, summer day.
Spend some time exploring the hiking trail, too! The park hooks into the Great Western Trail, which is a 4,455-mile trail that runs from Canada all the way down to Mexico.
You'll probably just want to hike in for a mile or so, then turn around and head back to the park.
You'll find plenty of spots to sit quietly, enjoying the grandeur of the scenery...
...but there's also a large, grassy area that's perfect for playing soccer and running around with your friends.
Bring a picnic lunch with you when you visit. There are plenty of picnic tables and grassy spots to spread a picnic blanket.
South Fork Park also features two pretty pavilions that you can reserve for a larger family party.
The park also has two fire pits for roasting marshmallows, restrooms, and 20 picnic pads with grills.
Have you played at South Fork Park? We'd love to see your comments!
