Red Hills Desert Garden is an oasis that's just waiting to be explored! It offers almost 5,000 acres of beautiful desert plants.
Take a stroll along the paths that wind throughout the garden. They'll take you past several themed gardens, all of which feature water-efficient plants.
In fact, this garden is home to more than 5,000 plants that are perfectly suited for desert life.
The plants here use around five million gallons of water less than grass planted on the same amount of land.
Check out the Cactus Garden, which shows you just how varied and beautiful cacti can be!
You'll also explore the Yucca Garden...
...Agave Garden, Herperaloe, Sage, and Native Gardens.
You might also be surprised to find a Flower Garden here! The desert isn't all about cactus; some flowers are abundant in this red-rock landscape. These Desert Marigolds are a good example.
Keep an eye out for the unique Yellow Bird of Paradise Flowers, too!
Visitors often spot local wildlife while wandering through the garden. This garden oasis is home to lizards...
...birds, and even some rare species of fish.
Check out the fish viewing area, where you might catch a glimpse of some of the six species of fish found in the Virgin River.
The garden has a 1,150-foot stream that's home to Virgin Spinedance, Flannelmouth Sucker, Woundfin, Speckled Dace, Desert Sucker, and Virgin River Chub.
The garden also has a replica slot canyon, and prehistoric dinosaurs left their tracks throughout this area more than 200 million years ago, so keep a lookout for those as well.
Red Hills Desert Garden is open every day of the year, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free.
