Here in Utah, we are blessed to have several beautiful lake beaches. From the soft sandy beaches at Bear Lake to those found in southern Utah at Sand Hollow State Park, there are places all over the Beehive State that will make you feel like you are right on the coast. One lesser-known inland beach is found on the eastern shore of Pineview Reservoir — Middle Inlet Beach. With plenty of space for a day in the sand and a gorgeous picnic area, you may have found your new favorite summer day trip destination.
Pineview Reservoir is located in the Ogden Valley. It was created in the 1930s when a dam was constructed on the Ogden River. Throughout the years, this has become a popular place for swimming, boating, fishing, and enjoying a day outdoors.
This reservoir is home to three beaches. And while Cemetery Point Beach is one of the most popular, Middle Inlet Beach is one that deserves just as much attention.
Middle Inlet Beach is located on the eastern shore of the reservoir. This beach is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, playing in the sand, and enjoying the pure beauty of the area.
If you wish to hop into the water, be prepared as it may be a little chilly. However, the water is quite shallow, and even youngsters will have fun splashing and wading out into the lake.
And while you can always swim and splash, bring a fishing pole and try your luck fishing right from the shore.
You can even bring paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, etc., and head out onto the water.
While the sandy beach is certainly a big draw to this area, many people come to Middle Inlet Beach for its day-use picnic area.
Here, you will find several beautiful picnic areas right on the shore. There is also a reservable group site with a pavilion for large groups as well. At the day-use site, you will find drinking water, vault toilets, and parking. There is a fee per vehicle and for walk-in visitors.
Middle Inlet Beach is a delightful place to spend a summer day. There’s no reason to travel to the coast when we have beaches like these in Utah.
