Enjoy A Secluded Stroll On A Little-Known Path Along This Iconic Utah River

If you have spent any time in the Provo and Orem area then you are likely familiar with paths such as the Provo River Parkway or the Murdock Canal Trail. Both trails offer excellent views, wide paths, and easy terrain. However, located off the Provo River Parkway Trail is a short loop trail that is lesser known and fabulous for an afternoon stroll. It is the Canyon View Park Provo River Loop.

Canyon View Park is located up Provo Canyon and is a beautiful place for a day trip. This park is packed with amenities like picnic areas, a playground, restrooms, fishing access, and the Canyon View Park Provo River Loop.

This easy trail connects to the Provo River Parkway and provides a little break from some of the traffic you will see on the Provo River Parkway.

The trail itself is approximately 1.5 miles and flat. It is also paved, making it easily accessible for strollers and those with mobility issues.

One side of the loop takes you through the park, while the other is on the Provo River Parkway. You can start this trail at the entrance to the park and near the parking lot and restrooms.

While only 1.5 miles, every step is going to be beautiful. You will walk through large green spaces …

… and through trees that have created a tunnel over the trail.

You’ll also enjoy river views along your way.

And look up and admire the mountains along your journey as well — it’s gorgeous everywhere you turn.

While this path is perfect for walking or running, you will want to keep an eye out for cyclists. This is a popular trail for all types of recreational activities and after spending time on the trail, you will quickly understand why.

The summer is the busiest time on this trail, but I particularly love the fall when the leaves change colors. Visit all year long to enjoy this area in all its beauty. With the trail short, easy, and beautiful, it’s one you’ll find yourself revisiting over and over again throughout the year.
