The Milky Falls Trail Is One Of The Best Waterfall Hikes In Utah
Utah is home to breathtaking natural wonders, including numerous waterfalls. Calf Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Stewart Falls, Donut Falls — the list of the remarkable waterfalls and waterfall hikes in Utah could go on and on. But, there is another short and sweet waterfall trail that is often overlooked. Milky Falls is located in Manti Canyon, in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The hike to reach the falls is short but beautiful. You may find it is one of the best waterfall hikes in Utah.
If you find yourself in Sanpete County, add a visit to Milky Falls to your itinerary. This waterfall isn’t huge but it’s a delightful day trip outdoors.
However, before you go, you’ll want to lace up your hiking boots. You will have a 0.2-mile hike ahead of you.
To reach the trailhead, you’ll head east on 5th South in Manti. Continue up the canyon for more than 7.5 miles. This road is rough and a high clearance vehicle is recommended.
Despite the short distance to the falls, take your time. This is a quiet trail and it isn’t uncommon to enjoy the area by yourself — especially if visiting on a weekday.
As you approach the falls, you can sit down on a bench and enjoy the view.
Trek a little closer and enjoy the beauty of the falls. During the spring months, Milky Falls can really roar so watch your footing and keep a safe distance. There is no true platform for viewing them. falls.
