Here Are The Best Times And Places To View Fall Foliage In Utah
Fall foliage in Utah peaks in early October in the north and late October in the south, offering stunning scenic drives.
After a long, scorching summer, we can hardly wait for the cooler days of autumn. We're so excited for fall, that we recently created a fall foliage road trip so that we can drive through some of Utah's most beautiful spots this season. The trick is knowing when the foliage will be at its peak. While it's impossible to predict with 100 percent accuracy, the folks at SmokyMountains.com have created a Fall Foliage Prediction Map that gives us a hint.
The interactive Fall Foliage Prediction Map from Smoky Mountains has a slider underneath it so that you can see how the fall foliage will change throughout the country over the autumn months.
According to the map, Utah will experience the bulk of its fall foliage transition between Oct. 10 and Oct. 31.
By Oct. 10, the fall foliage map for Utah indicates the leaves in the central portion of the state will be past their prime. The southern areas of the state should be experiencing vibrant colors, however.
By the end of October, all of Utah will be past peak fall foliage.
SmokyMountains.com uses past weather patterns to predict peak fall foliage. As with anything, these predictions aren't 100 percent infallible, but it's a helpful tool when planning your autumn adventures!
